How to use the sprint button and sprint specializations in Battlefield 3

The sprint button can be used to cover ground faster in BF3. There is no limit to the amount of time you can sprint.

Sprint is activated one of two ways on the PC:
–          Hold the shift key
–          Double tap the “W” key and hold

Here are some simple but useful tips to keep track of your game’s performance.

First off, Battlefield 3 has a number of commands that can be entered into its console. To bring up the console, press the tilde key, which is just above the tab key.

How to get the Battlefield 3 early access beta

Early access to the Battlefield 3 beta starts on Tuesday the 27th, rather than Thursday the 29th for the open beta.

Here’s a summary of purchases that qualify for early access:

  • Preordered the PC version through Origin
  • Purchased and registered the retail Medal of Honor: Limited Edition/Tier 1 Edition
  • Purchased the Steam download of Medal of Honor prior to July 26th, 2011

And here’s how to get access:
PC version, Origin preorder: Will receive an email with instructions and an access key.
PC version, MoH:LE retail purchase: Will receive an email with instructions and an access key as long as MoH:LE was registered.
PC version, MoH Steam purchase: Go to Medal of Honor in your Steam library, click the CD key link, and copy the BF3 early access key. Install Origin, click the “gear” icon, then select “Redeem Product Code” and enter the key
Xbox 360, MoH:LE purchase:  Will receive an email with instructions and an access key.
Playstation 3, MoH:LE purchase: BF3 early access will automatically appear in the Playstation Store.

As a reminder, all PC players need to download and install Origin, then create an Origin account to play the Battlefield 3 beta.

Once you register, you’ll unlock the M1911 pistol for Battlefield 3. This was a great sidearm in Bad Company 2, so I suggest you sign up!
