How to Take a Screenshot in Battlefield 4

bf4 screenshot command

In the Battlefield 4 beta, it doesn’t look like a simple screenshot key has been added.

However, there are still a few ways you can take screenshots.

The first option is built into BF4. To take a screenshot in game:

  • Press the tilde (~) key
  • Type the command screenshot.render and hit enter
  • Hit tilde again to close the console

After following these steps, your screenshot will be saved as a full-resolution PNG file in the following directory:

C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Battlefield 4\Screenshots

A different option is to use windowed mode and the Windows screenshot key. Hit Alt + Enter to go into windowed mode or select it from the video settings menu. Then, press the Print Screen button on your keyboard. The image will then be saved to your clipboard, where you can paste in into a program like Paint or Photoshop and save it.

But the easiest way to get screenshots is with a separate program. My recommendation is FRAPS. A free version is available for download that lets you take screenshots easily using a key such as F12 whenever you choose.

why has this situation not been addressed yet, how hard is it to add the code to bind a key to screenshot command, even the old battelfields had screenshot functionality, this is not good enough.
